AmTrust Financial Services, Inc., a fast-growing commercial insurance company, has an immediate need for an in-house Paralegal to work in our Florida Staff Counsel office.

Responsibilities

→Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decision and legal articles to prepare legal documents including; briefs, pleadings, motions and appeals
→Compile and prepare draft discovery responses.
→Draft complex motions
→Assist in the preparation for trials, including trial notebooks, exhibits, subpoenas and witness coordination
→Communicate with clients, witnesses, adversaries, witnesses, court, and team members
→Interact with people of all levels of the company as a member of the legal team
→Capability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-oriented setting
→Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet manner
→Manage and prioritize completing deadlines
→Maintain data integrity in computer platform
→Support multiple attorneys in the defense of workers’ compensation cases.

Requirements

Formal paralegal certificate
3 or more years of experience as a paralegal
FL Workers’ Compensation experience preferred
2 years demonstrated experience in defense litigation
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently and multi-task required
Dynamic deadline-oriented work environment
