The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Professional Studies (GSBSPS) offers over 40 doctoral, master's and professional development programs. The GSBSPS at Drexel University’s College of Medicine offers the Master of Science in Pathologists' Assistant (PathA) program, which combines one year of intense academic studies with one year of clinical training. Students satisfactorily completing program requirements are awarded a Master of Science that prepares them to work, under the direction of a pathologist, as a highly qualified allied health professional in anatomic pathology laboratories throughout the country.
PathA adjunct faculty are expected to provide relevant course content (including lecture and laboratory material), subspecialty lectures (as needed), and any other academic materials deemed appropriate by PathA program leadership. Adjunct faculty are expected to work closely with program leadership to ensure targets/deadlines are being met appropriately and that materials are being delivered in an engaging manner. Adjunct faculty are responsible for ensuring that the academic materials they are delivering are kept current.
- Responsible for creating a syllabus in accordance with Drexel University guidelines or teaching the course in accordance with the syllabus and course materials if provided by Drexel.
- Be available to students, maintain accurate documentation of course records that supports assigned grades, submit student grades in accordance with University policy, and perform any other course related duties as assigned by the department head or program director.
- Submit a copy of grade sheet(s) to the department or unit no later than one week after the submission of grades. Arrangements for grades of Incomplete or any grade appeals that may extend beyond the end of the established contract must be made with the Program Director.
- Ensuring that course content is current and up to date.
- Coordinating all course assessments, including tests and quizzes.
- Scheduling and coordinating class and lab times.
Requirements
~1 min read- Minimum of a Master’s Degree.
- Teaching experience in relevant Pathology or Pathology's Assistant courses.
