KNX News AM Drive Editor

• →Lead editorial coverage and rundown creation for the KNX morning drive newscast
• →Assign, coordinate, and support reporters, anchors, writers, and producers
• →Monitor breaking news, wires, social channels, and newsroom sources to determine coverage priorities
• →Write, edit, and update scripts, headlines, and audio elements
• →Ensure stories are accurate, balanced, and compliant with legal, ethical, and journalistic standards
• →Manage timing, structure, and transitions to maintain strong pacing and audience engagement
• →Make fast, smart editorial decisions under deadline pressure
• →Closely coordinate & communicate with management and follow up with editors to maintain reporting & producing calendars

• 5+ years of newsroom experience as an editor, producer, writer, or similar role
• Strong editorial judgment and understanding of breaking news coverage
• Excellent writing, copyediting, and communication skills
• Knowledge of AP Style and audio storytelling best practices
• Ability to work independently and lead a team during live breaking situations
• Experience with newsroom production tools and audio editing systems preferred
