Calspan’s Automotive Crash Facility, located in Buffalo, NY, is recognized worldwide for its leadership in vehicle safety testing. With a mission to advance the science of crash testing, we’re seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to support and improve our state-of-the-art test systems.

 

In our fast-paced, precision-driven lab environment, you’ll work alongside a talented team and contribute to projects for top automotive manufacturers across the globe.

Responsibilities

  • Performing set-up and installation of equipment, instrumentation, cable routing, soldering, and checkout before, during, and after the test.
  • Support the maintenance, installation, and repair of test equipment to maximize operational availability.
  • Document test procedures and installations. Provide guidance with data calculation when applicable.
  • Understand OEM test request for upcoming test instrumentation required for test article. Assemble instrumentation required and make placards for test article

  • AAS or Bachelors in related discipline
  • 3+ years in related discipline or;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

  • Troubleshooting mechanical or electrical problems
  • Electrical and electronic principles
  • Perform operations and execute moderately complex test procedures for engineering, scientific, or real-time data acquisition
  • Read and understand engineering plans and specifications
  • Read drawings and troubleshoot
  • Microsoft Office
