The Director, Leasing drives portfolio performance by optimizing leasing results, reducing vacancies, and elevating revenue through strategic sales leadership and market-driven insights.

 

Champion leasing excellence across your assigned portfolio by identifying gaps, implementing targeted strategies, and guiding teams to meet vacancy, conversion, and revenue goals. 

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Operations, Marketing, Princing and Sales, to align on leasing velocity, market-driven strategies, and targeted campaigns that reflect real-time renter behaviours.

Strengthen leasing teams through property visits, feedback and hands-on coaching to improve sales and closing skills, and deliver exceptional customer service.

Conduct Mystery Shops, surveys, and audits to determine areas of opportunity, and inform on pricing, incentives, and operational improvements.

Build strong relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders, share key insights, and support broader operations.

 

 

Requirements

  • 7 years’ experience in residential leasing, real estate sales, property management or related field.
  • College/University degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficient with MS Office. SAP/Yardi knowledge is an asset.
  • Experienced in team management and collaborating with cross-functional teams including Marketing, to develop data‑driven leasing marketing strategies and targeted campaigns.
  • Advanced analytical acumen, capable of interpreting market signals, digital behaviour, pricing dynamics, and competitive insights to drive proactive strategic initiatives.
  • Demonstrated pattern of exceptional sales performance, consistently surpassing leasing and revenue targets across multiple asset types and market conditions.  
  • Proven history of cultivating, navigating, and closing high value leasing/sales opportunities.
  • Self-starter with a passion for delivering excellence in customer relations.
  • Effective team player with well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence leasing teams to adopt best practices and achieve key objectives.
  • Strong and strategic problem-solver with effective negotiation skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends when needed to meet business requirements.
  • Detailed-oriented with proven ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s licence, clean driver abstract, reliable, insured means of personal transportation to and between work locations may be required for some locations.
