Grounds Generalist (Hoopeston)

The Grounds Generalist assists and provides support in the operations of the Carle Facilities Services group relative to facilities maintenance. Such activities include, but are not limited to, maintenance of landscape, chemical and fertilization applications, snow removal, pruning and all grounds related functions.

Repairs and maintains secondary roads, parking lots, sidewalks, driveways, signage, benches, fountains, planters, and other grounds features. Also, maintains and repairs tools, and equipment.Assists in cultivating, transplanting, watering, maintaining and removing shrubs, trees, and flowers when necessary.Removes snow and ice from walks, stairs, ramps, driveways, and parking lots. Spreads salt in these areas as needed.Mows and edges lawns, using power mowers and edger's; cares for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, and removing thatch. Trim and edge around flower beds, walks, and walls.Cleans streets, walks, drains, parking lots and other outdoor areas as requested. Empties trash receptacles, cleans outside around trash compactors, and collects all other rubbish left on campus grounds and in building entryways.Operates power equipment and hand tools used in the performance of assigned duties.Mixes and applies chemicals, fertilizers, pest control treatments, and herbicides as required with respect to other duties of the position.Moves and stores furniture and heavy equipment, or special set ups for outside events.Perform other duties as assigned.

Certifications: Licensed Commercial Not-For-Hire Operator within 1 year - Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDA)Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDA); Driver's License - Illinois Secretary of State (ILSOS)Illinois Secretary of State (ILSOS), Education: H.S. Diploma/GED (Required), Work Experience: 1yr of Groundskeeper experience

The compensation range for this position is $15.8per hour - $25.6per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
