Responsibilities

This position requires the employee to work in an office environment where there is noise from telephones and conversations among employees and clients as well as working in the community.   Working conditions may include interruptions.  Extensive use of telephones, computers and related office equipment is typical of this position.

  • Able to hear telephone rings, phone conversation, doorbells, emergency alarms and normal face-to-face conversation.
  • Able to prioritize multiple tasks, and to work independently and as a team member.
  • Able to hear telephone rings, phone conversations, emergency alarms and client conversations.
  • Hearing ability to successfully facilitate meetings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to hand write legibly.
  • Able to read normal size print and handwritten notes.
  • Able to sit for sustained periods of time.
  • Mobility/dexterity of hands/arms to enable use of computer, phone and other office equipment.
  • Regularly able to perform duties as assigned.
  • Able to make independent decisions and apply sound judgment in performing job duties.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in social services, volunteer management or equivalent years of experience.
  • Experience in volunteer management or employee supervision.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, particularly elderly communities.
  • Strong customer service, MS Office, and database skills.
  • WA Driver's License, auto insurance, access to insured vehicle for outreach and community meetings. Ability to comply with agency employee driving policy.
  • Ability to travel King County (including evening/weekends).

Requirements

  • Fluency in second language.
  • Experience working with non-profit agencies.
  • Work or volunteer experience with elders and adults with disabilities.
  • Experience in event planning and/or project management.
  • Experience in public speaking/making presentations.
