Change can start with one conversation, one connection and one person who refuses to give up.

In Coventry, we work alongside people affected by drug and alcohol use, helping them take back control, build resilience and move towards the life they want.

We’re looking for a Extended Brief Intervention Recovery Coordinator who brings compassion, energy and determination. Someone who can build trust, connect the right people and turn a plan for change into practical action.

This is more than coordinating support. It’s about seeing the person, recognising their potential and helping them take their next step.

You’ll be a consistent point of support from someone’s first conversation with us and throughout their treatment and recovery.

As their Recovery Coordinator, you’ll look beyond the immediate issue to understand the whole person — their strengths, needs, experiences and goals. You’ll complete assessments, manage risk and turn what matters to them into a clear, achievable recovery plan.

You won’t do this alone. You’ll connect people with the right clinical care, mental health support and community opportunities, building strong relationships with GPs, health services, criminal justice partners and local organisations.

It’s practical, purposeful work where the relationships you build can make a lasting difference.

You don’t need to arrive knowing everything. You do need to understand substance use, believe in people’s ability to change and know how to build trust without judgement.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience of supporting people affected by drug or alcohol use in an outcomes-focused environment, with the confidence to complete assessments, manage risk and coordinate individual support.
  • Strong communication and partnership-working skills, including the ability to make complex information accessible and work effectively across health, mental health, criminal justice and community services.
  • The ability to work independently, organise competing priorities, maintain accurate records and contribute positively to the wider team.
  • A clear commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, professional boundaries, inclusive practice and your own continued learning.

Knowledge of mental health interventions, services and good practice would be an advantage.

You’ll work flexibly across local operational sites when required. This may occasionally include evening or weekend work to meet the needs of the service.
