We are looking for a Female Prison In-Reach Recovery Worker to join our team. With this role you’ll be working as part of the RISE team, based in Southall. Your role will focus on identifying, engaging and supporting service users with drug and/or alcohol needs, delivering targeted interventions and robust release planning to reduce substance misuse, re-offending and associated harm.

You will work closely with prisons, probation services, and community-based providers to ensure seamless transitions and timely access to appropriate support on release.

  • Act as a key liaison between prison in-reach teams and community drug/alcohol services to support continuity of care, shared case management, and coordinated risk reduction planning.
  • Carry out prison-based screenings, initial assessments, and risk assessments, developing recovery plans in partnership with service users prior to release.
  • Provide harm reduction education, overdose prevention, and relapse management planning with service users in custody and following release into the community.
  • Deliver and promote Naloxone provision pre- and post-release, and train service users and peers in its use where appropriate.
  • Conduct home visits, hostel visits, and community outreach as needed to maintain engagement, particularly with high-risk individuals and those at risk of disengagement.
  • Work collaboratively with police, probation, mental health, housing, and social care partners to address the complex needs of high-risk service users and promote recovery and rehabilitation.
  • Empathy and Understanding: A strong grasp of substance misuse issues and experience working within the Criminal Justice field
  • Clear Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with proficiency in IT.
  • Self-Motivated and Organised: Ability to take initiative, manage time effectively, and prioritise tasks.
  • Knowledgeable and Resourceful: Good understanding of mental health interventions and services.
  • Team-Oriented: A supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills, comfortable collaborating with a range of professionals and stakeholders.
  • Adaptable: Ability to manage change effectively, always prioritising the needs of our service users.
  • Committed to Best Practices: Understanding of information governance processes and dedication to applying all necessary safeguards.
  • Continuous Learner: Enthusiastic about seeking out learning opportunities and contributing to the development of others.
  • Approved for Restricted Institutional Access: The successful candidate will need to complete an enhanced DBS check and obtain HMPPS security clearance
