At HMP Liverpool, we are looking for someone with vision and passion to help people who access our service with their Drug and alcohol use.
As a Prison Group Facilitator, you will be supporting them through all aspects of their treatment journey by collaborating with the service lead to design and deliver evidence-based group programmes that align with the prison regime and support participants from early contemplation of change through to sustained recovery and aftercare.
At Change Grow Live you will be working with people to help them change the direction of their life, grow as an individual, and live life to its full potential.
You will also be supporting the people who access our service to move towards release from custody by working with other agencies to ensure support is in place for addressing substance misuse and or recovery.
Working within a secure prison environment can be challenging but a rewarding experience, you will be provided with training and support needed to undertake this role.
About the Role

- Assess suitability for groups in terms of risk and special needs.
- To deliver a range of PSI group work to people who use the service
- Provide support to people who use the service accessing the groups
- To develop and maintain excellent working relationships with partners
- To work closely with local and regional mutual aid groups and look to create opportunities to deliver within the prison.
- To support and guide the team to consider group-work as part of Recovery Planning.
- To prepare individual recovery plans and motivate people who use the service to actively engage with their treatment journey`
- To ensure effective provision of recovery focused interventions to people who use the service.
- Understanding of evidence-based interventions in a group work setting.
- Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field ideally within prison/criminal justice
- Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills
- Knowledge and experience of delivering process orientated group work.
- Knowledge of a range of Psychosocial Interventions including MI, CBT, Node link Mapping (ITEP/BTEI)
- Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice
- Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders
- Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users
- Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards
- Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others
- Ability to obtain and maintain prison vetting

Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.
