Responsibilities

→Contact the insurance companies to verify coverage and the need for a prior authorization
→Maintain an open line of communication with the front desk staff to ensure patient charts are up to date with correct insurance information prior to the scheduled appointment
→Educate the parents to contact their insurance company if the carrier states it’s not a covered benefit or to ensure they have an advocate to obtain timely payments for the center prior to date of service
→Add new coverages into the system
→Alert offices when appointments need to be cancelled
→Call parents to obtain new coverages
→Verify scheduled appointments
→Ensure that all existing data and coverage tables are accurate
→Enter the patients’ insurance information accurately in the computer system.
→Greet the public with a sense of warmth, compassion and pride and see to the needs of the patients and families.
→Inform patient of self-pay rates due in the event the insurance company is out of network for the facility
→All other duties as deemed appropriate

Experience with insurance verification strongly preferred.
Minimum one year of experience in a hospital or medical/dental office setting required.
The ideal candidate will possess a working knowledge of dental/medical terminology and be familiar with a variety of insurances.
Excellent people handling and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
A high degree of accuracy in obtaining and recording information; computer skills
