We are seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to join a well-established nonprofit organization serving the senior healthcare community in Detroit. This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused IT professional who enjoys supporting end users in a collaborative environment while making a meaningful impact. You'll provide day-to-day technical support for approximately 150 users, helping maintain business continuity during a period of increased IT demand.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Serve as the primary point of contact for end-user technical support requests.
- →Troubleshoot Windows 10/11 desktops, laptops, hardware, printers, scanners, and mobile devices.
- →Support Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
- →Prepare, image, configure, and deploy laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
- →Perform onboarding and offboarding tasks, including user account administration and password resets.
- →Assist with Microsoft 365 administration, mailbox access, and group memberships.
- →Coordinate hardware repairs with vendors and maintain accurate inventory records.
- →Follow security best practices and support compliance within a HIPAA-regulated environment.
- →Escalate complex technical issues when appropriate and maintain thorough documentation of support activities.
Requirements
~1 min read- 3+ years of IT Support, Help Desk, or Desktop Support experience.
- Experience supporting Windows 10/11 environments.
- Strong Microsoft 365 troubleshooting experience.
- Excellent hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
- Security-minded approach with cybersecurity awareness.
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Active Directory and/or Microsoft Entra ID experience.
- Exchange Online administration.
- Basic networking knowledge.
- Experience supporting a HIPAA-regulated environment.
- PowerShell familiarity.
- 100% onsite in Detroit, MI.
- Standard business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
- Very minimal local travel, if any.
- Occasional laptop deployments requiring lifting of equipment up to 20 lbs.
- Contract position expected to begin ASAP with a strong possibility of extension based on business needs.
