Procurement Specialist Lead - Full-time

Black Desert Resort is an ultra-premium destination resort in Southern Utah offering luxury accommodations, elevated dining, championship golf, wellness experiences, and world-class hospitality. The Purchasing Department supports every area of resort operations through strategic procurement, inventory management, logistics coordination, and vendor partnerships.
The Procurement Specialist – Lead is responsible for supporting daily purchasing operations while serving as a lead resource for procurement, receiving, inventory control, and departmental logistics. This role coordinates purchasing activities, helps manage vendor relationships, oversees inventory processes, and supports the Director of Procurement in maintaining operational efficiency and cost controls.
The Procurement Specialist – Lead will assist in training team members, resolving procurement issues, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring resort departments receive the supplies and materials necessary to support exceptional guest experiences.
Due to the operational needs of the resort, this position is expected to work Saturdays as part of its regular schedule.
Requirements

- Minimum of 3–5 years of purchasing, procurement, inventory control, receiving, warehouse, or supply chain experience.
- Hospitality, resort, food & beverage, or luxury property experience strongly preferred.
- Previous lead, supervisory, or team leadership experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Experience operating box trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment.
- Forklift certification is preferred or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, purchasing procedures, and vendor relations.
- Experience with purchasing software, inventory systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Excel.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and operational requests simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while supporting team success.

Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Lead day-to-day purchasing, receiving, inventory, and distribution activities.
- →Procure food, beverage, operating supplies, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and other resort-related products while ensuring quality and cost compliance.
- →Create, review, and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and accurate receiving.
- →Support Black Desert Resort's water bottling operations by assisting with inventory management, procurement of raw materials and packaging supplies, coordinating deliveries, maintaining stock levels, and supporting production needs to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- →Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
- →Assist in negotiating pricing, delivery schedules, and purchasing agreements.
- →Coordinate deliveries and ensure proper receiving, inspection, and documentation of goods.
- →Monitor inventory levels and proactively identify replenishment needs.
- →Support inventory cycle counts, physical inventories, audits, and reconciliation processes.
- →Operate resort box truck and forklift for transportation and movement of goods.
- →Deliver and stock inventory throughout resort departments and storage facilities.
- →Assist departments in sourcing products and identifying cost-effective purchasing solutions.
- →Investigate and resolve discrepancies involving invoices, deliveries, damaged goods, shortages, or vendor issues.
- →Support procurement reporting, spend analysis, and purchasing records management.
- →Assist in training and onboarding, purchasing and receiving team members.
- →Serve as warehouse lead in the absence of the Director of Procurement.
- →Maintain procurement systems, inventory databases, and documentation.
- →Support resort openings, expansions, renovations, and special projects requiring procurement coordination.
- →Uphold Black Desert Resort's operational, safety, and service standards.
- →Perform other duties as assigned.
