Are you ready to help shape the future of travel and hospitality at the new Hotel Polaris at the U.S. Air Force Academy? Hotel Polaris is seeking an exceptional Security Officer to join our team and play a vital role in shaping the success of Hotel Polaris, an instant icon on the hospitality landscape of Colorado Springs. Your efforts significantly influence the unique and distinctive experiences we seek to deliver to our guests and team members alike. Responsibilities

  • Patrol the property as required and ensure the security of hotel guests and assets.
  • Promptly report any safety of security concerns to the appropriate manager or the Security Supervisor.
  • Maintain radio communications with Guest Services at all times, if unavailable for any reason, notify Guest Services and advise them how you can be contacted in an emergency.
  • Act as property first responder to alarms, medical calls, etc. maintain absolute confidentiality on sensitive issues.
  • Interact with all government agencies, i.e., fire, police and paramedics, as needed.
  • Conduct detailed internal investigations into incidents, and provide detailed, objective reports for each shift or incident.
  • Detect and resolve immediate safety issues; respond to the scene of an incident and act as an emergency first responder, if required.
  • Maintain accurate notes and log information as required; ensure that all pass-on information is communicated to the next shift.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Must possess required valid professional credentials (if required by state or local regulations).
  • Valid certification in CPR/AED and first aid, or the ability to obtain certification.
  • Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving background/criminal history record.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
  • Experience at a comparable AAA Four Diamond/Four Star hotel and/or resort is highly desired.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
