Cotiviti is seeking a Director, Business Architecture to build and lead the Business Architecture capability for the Payment Integrity business unit. This role will define how the business needs to work to support scale, reduce fragmentation, improve business-to-technology alignment, and enable more efficient execution across the operating model.
This leader will clarify business capabilities, value streams, ownership, decision paths, and target-state operating models; identify redesign opportunities; and create the foundation for automation, AI enablement, innovation, and scalable transformation. The role requires a strategic leader who can understand complexity, challenge the status quo, and translate business priorities into clear business design and delivery decisions.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Build and lead the Business Architecture capability for the Payments business unit.
- →Define and maintain business capabilities, value streams, ownership models, decision paths, and operating model views.
- →Lead analysis of business processes, handoffs, pain points, fragmentation, and decision gaps.
- →Design target-state operating models and business flows that support scale, efficiency, and stronger execution.
- →Strengthen business-to-technology translation so business priorities are reflected clearly in architecture, solution design, and delivery execution.
- →Partner across Business, Operations, Product, PMO, and Technology to improve alignment and reduce friction.
- →Identify and prioritize redesign opportunities that support automation, AI enablement, innovation, and scale.
- →Facilitate workshops and decision forums to align stakeholders on current-state issues, future-state design, and transformation priorities.
- →Establish and standardize business architecture methods, templates, and artifacts across Payments, including value stream maps, capability maps, process flows, ownership matrices, decision rights, and target-state operating model documentation.
- →Support executive decision-making through clear analysis, recommendations, and architecture outputs.
- →Build talent and team capability to understand the business deeply, challenge the status quo, and innovate.
- →Ensure business architecture work improves execution, reduces rework, and supports scalable change.
- →Hire, develop, coach, lead and retain top-tier talent, with a focus on building and improving a team and culture that is able to assist in employing best in class practices to support and drive high levels of internal and external customer satisfaction.

Requirements
~3 min read- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 10+ years of experience in Business Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, operating model design, business transformation, process excellence, strategy execution, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience in both Business Architecture and Enterprise Architecture.
- Proven experience defining business capabilities, value streams, ownership models, decision paths, and target-state operating models.
- Strong experience translating business strategy into business architecture, operating model, and delivery decisions.
- Experience partnering across Business, Operations, Product, PMO, and Technology in a complex, matrixed environment.
- Proven ability to identify and drive innovation opportunities that improve efficiency, scalability, and business performance.
- Experience leading or supporting process redesign, automation, AI enablement, and scalable transformation initiatives.
- Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills.
- Experience building alignment across senior stakeholders and influencing decisions without direct authority.
- Experience working in regulated, operationally complex, or highly structured environments.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience in healthcare, payer operations, payments integrity, claims, or adjacent healthcare operations.
- Experience building or scaling a Business Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Process Excellence, or Transformation function.
- Familiarity with business capability modeling, value stream mapping, operating model design, architecture governance, and business architecture artifacts.
- Experience establishing business architecture methods, templates, and reusable artifacts.
- Experience influencing investment, prioritization, and operating model decisions through structured business architecture analysis.
- Experience supporting executive leaders through transformation, automation, innovation, and AI-related change.
- Communicating with others to exchange information.
- Problem-solving and thinking critically.
- Completing tasks independently.
- Interpreting data.
- Making timely decisions in the context of a workflow.
- Maintaining focus.
- Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.

Base compensation ranges from $165,000 to $195,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs. This role is eligible for discretionary bonus consideration.
