Specifically, this role will look at implementing and maintaining the security transformation reform and ensuring our team at Berry Street and Yooralla are aware and knowledgeable to security threats.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Monitor and analyse security alerts to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
- →Detect and investigate incidents using security monitoring tools.
- →Execute rapid containment, remediation, and recovery actions.
- →Collaborate with IT teams to address vulnerabilities and implement fixes.
- →Support system and network hardening initiatives.
- →Conduct threat and vulnerability assessments and report on remediation progress.
- →Communicate security gaps and provide expert guidance to stakeholders.
- →Perform security risk assessments aligned to the Cybersecurity Risk Management Framework.
- →Support vulnerability and compliance activities, ensuring full asset coverage.

Requirements
~1 min read- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a dedicated cyber incident response role, responding promptly to security incidents, assessing their impact, and initiating necessary containment, eradication, and recovery actions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentations and facilitation.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and perform well under pressure.
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST CSF, ISO 27001, Essential 8, MITRE ATT&CK) and incident response practices.
- Hands‑on experience with security tools such as SIEM, vulnerability management, email gateways, Azure, Intune, and Microsoft Defender.
- Solid understanding of network protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and network architecture.
- Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills for troubleshooting security issues.
- Staying current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques.
