The Clinical unit manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and clinical activities within DHART. Area of oversight includes coordinating and supervising clinical team members, ensuring high-quality patient care, and managing unit regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and manages performance of staff members.
  • Provides leadership, consultation and collaboration with the director and other members of the health care team to design, evaluate and improve patient care systems and processes.
  • Assumes accountability for quality and regulatory directives.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates unit and organizational policies, procedures, and goals. Provides input regarding operational and capital budgets for the unit.’
  • Manages the department schedule. Plans staffing and adjustments on a daily basis. Leads the hiring process for Flight Nurses and Flight Paramedics.
  • Supports education and staff development through participation in research, education, informatics, quality and patient safety, professional development, and shared governance.
  • Collaborates with the unit educator and medical direction team to educate, train, and develop staff to ensure competency and provide professional growth.
  • Administers clinical care to patients to maintain clinical skills. Maintains all clinical competencies of flight crew.
  • Provides DHART Leadership on Call coverage.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.
  • Requirements

    • Bachelor degree with 3 years of flight experience, preferred.
    • Master’s degree, preferred.
    • Maintains all requirements of DHART Clinical Critical care provider.
    • Must meet crew weight standard: 100 kilos or less, transport ready, in uniform.
    • Licensed Registered Nurse or Paramedic in New Hampshire
    • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in NH or Emergency Medical Technician Advanced/Paramedic (AEMT/NRP) in NH .
    • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in VT or EMT Advanced/Paramedic (AEMT/NRP) in VT within 3 months of hire.
    • Nationally registered EMT, AEMT or NRP (NREMT).
