HarperCollins Publishers is currently seeking a Production Associate to assist the Reprint Production department in daily tasks related to the reprinting of backlist titles. The Associate will be responsible for issuing purchase orders, achieving optimal pricing, maintaining schedule fidelity, and overseeing the reprint production lifecycle for both Adult and Children’s titles. The Associate will also be in charge of managing the reprint correction process in collaboration with the Design and Editorial departments. This is a high volume and fast-paced position. It is a great opportunity for a self-starter who wishes to learn about making books, both print and digital.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Assist department and Director with various projects.
- →Issue Purchase Orders to outside printers and binderies for manufacturing of both Adult and Children’s titles.
- →Liase with Inventory Management, outside vendors, and other key stakeholders to accurately manufacture and deliver finished goods in a timely fashion.
- →Coordinate with Editorial and Design to accurately and timely complete text and component revisions.
- →Prepare and traffic production files, ensuring all materials meet printer specifications and quality standards.
- →Troubleshoot production issues as they arise
- →Manage daily reports and schedule updates for key titles.
- →Send active Children’s books for safety testing and maintains relevant reports.
Requirements

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work and communicate across internal departments and external vendors
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Prior publishing experience a plus, but not required

The salary for this position is $55,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company.
