Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Define and maintain the enterprise data architecture across Microsoft Fabric and Azure data services.
- Design and implement medallion data architecture patterns (Bronze, Silver, Gold) to ensure scalable, governed, and reusable data assets.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Microsoft Fabric architecture, including Lakehouse, Warehouse, OneLake, semantic layers, and Direct Lake patterns.
- Architect and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and storage pipelines using Fabric data engineering capabilities.
- Contribute hands-on data engineering work when needed, including building pipelines, transformations, and curated data models.
- Ensure proper separation of responsibilities between data platform layers (Bronze/Silver/Gold) and downstream analytical models.
- Partner closely with data engineering and analytics teams to shape Gold Layer datasets for enterprise reporting and AI consumption.
- Define architecture patterns for data preparation and feature pipelines used by AI and advanced analytics workloads.
- Design and guide implementation of AI-enabled solutions, including conversational AI, copilots, and emerging agentic AI architectures.
- Establish standards for data governance, metadata management, data quality, and lineage tracking.
- Evaluate emerging capabilities across Azure and Microsoft Fabric and recommend scalable architecture patterns.
- Support cross-functional teams in translating business requirements into robust data and AI platform solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or enterprise data platform development.
- Strong experience designing and implementing modern data platforms on Microsoft Azure.
- Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric data platform capabilities, including:
- Lakehouse
- Data Engineering workloads
- Warehouse
- OneLake
- Semantic models
- Direct Lake patterns
- Strong experience implementing medallion data architectures (Bronze / Silver / Gold).
- Experience building and optimizing data pipelines and transformation logic using modern ELT patterns.
- Experience supporting analytics, BI, and AI workloads on enterprise data platforms.
- Familiarity with AI and machine learning platforms including Azure OpenAI, AI Studio, Cognitive Services, and LLM integration patterns.
- Strong SQL and data transformation expertise
Preferred certifications include:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate (preferred)
- Equivalent practical experience may substitute for certifications.
