Responsibilities
~1 min readThe Senior Director is directly accountable for:
- →Enterprise-wide case development (contact center and donation coordination) performance and outcomes
- →Adherence to CMS Conditions for Coverage, OPTN/UNOS policies, AOPO standards, and all applicable regulatory requirements
- →Consistency and reliability of clinical practice standards across all cases
- →Maximization of donor potential while maintaining the highest ethical standards
- →Accurate and complete contact center and clinical documentation and reporting
The Senior Director is accountable for:
- Direct supervision, coaching, and performance evaluation of Directors and Managers for case development.
- Establishing competency standards and capability continua
- Ensuring appropriate contact center and field coverage/staffing schedules
- Supporting professional development and continuing education initiatives
- Hiring, promotion, disciplinary action, and termination decisions consistent with organizational policy.
The Senior Director holds enterprise accountability for:
- Development and maintenance of case development procedures and policies
- Continuous process improvement across the donation process
- Collaboration with Quality, Hospital Engagement Services, Family Engagement Services, Allocation and Placement, Surgical Recovery Services, and Data Analytics to evaluate trends
- Oversight of audits, investigations, and corrective action plans
- Translation of findings from performance reviews into sustained operational improvements
- Ensures all education and training is compliant with regulatory standards
- The Senior Director collaborates in defining annual quality improvement goals and monitoring departmental effectiveness measures.
The Senior Director supports operational readiness by:
- Providing leadership coverage in the absence of the VP- Case Development
- Responding to occurrences in accordance with organizational policy
- Ensuring timely investigation and follow-up of events.
- The Senior Director is accountable for ensuring coverage structures function effectively and that case-level risks are addressed promptly.
The Senior Director is responsible for:
- Participating as an active member of the senior leadership team
- Assisting in establishing organizational and departmental goals and objectives
- Collaborating with Hospital Services to strengthen hospital relationships and timely donor referral
- Interacting with transplant surgeons, physicians, and transplant centers to maintain high service standards
- Acting as a spokesperson for the advancement of organ donation.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Biology, or Medical Sciences required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum five to seven years managerial experience.
- Minimum three years critical care experience required.
- Experience working with regulatory agencies required.
- Current CPTC certification preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of critical care.
- Understanding of quality improvement principles
- Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to analyze scientific, technical, financial, and regulatory materials
- Ability to define problems, analyze data, and draw valid conclusions
- Strong decision-making, delegation, and problem-solving skills
- Computer proficiency and operational systems literacy.
