→Compares identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items outgoing or incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, packing slips, address labels and other records.
→Determines method of shipment.
→Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
→Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers.
→Inserts items into containers.
→Secures product to pallets using stretch wrap or metal banding.
→Stamps, stencils or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
→Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
→Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
→Operates lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
→Operates powered lift truck or hand truck to load outgoing freight onto trucks.
→Performs all necessary computer transactions.
→Operates weight scale and digital counter.
→Inserts items into containers.
→Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
→Routes items to departments.
→Maintains inventory of receiving materials and supplies.
→Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags or labels.
→Other duties as assigned
