Responsibilities

  • →Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers and virtualization
  • →Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers and integrate automation processes
  • →Keep systems operating efficiently by performing any necessary upgrades and repairs
  • →Assigning and updating security permissions for the system network
  • →Support desktop and helpdesk efforts ensuring desktop applications, workstations and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions
  • →Provide support of assigned systems through troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software, and connectivity problems
  • →Act as a knowledge expert for assigned systems and distributed applications
  • →Collaborate with IT customers to ensure issues related to assigned systems are communicated appropriately
  • → Perform other work-related duties as assigned

Systems Administrator 2, under general supervision, maintains and supports the integrity of the operating system environment and various computer systems.

 

 

Actively participates in the implementation of sustainable improvement processes, such as 5S, Kaizen,

Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Daily Management Control, Standard Work and Problem Solving.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, System Administration or Computer Engineering

 

  • 5+ years of system administration experience, database, or network administration
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Server products (such as Windows Server, Sharepoint, SQL Server, IIS, DFS etc.) and administrative applications.
  • Experience with Enterprise-level VMWare, Veeam (or similar backup package) and SAN solutions.
  • General working knowledge of applications such as: Oracle RDMS, Linux, Microsoft Office, Office 365, Azure as well as Networking, Switches, Firewalls, and IP phone systems a plus
  • Knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware and networking protocols
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to servers and networking and connectivity. 
  • The incumbent should fully understand the role of computer networking and Information Technology in a manufacturing organization.  
  • Must have the ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing. 
  • Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.
  • Windows Server or Azure certification is a plus

 

Travel: Travel may occur on an infrequent basis.

 

Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is typically required to regularly conduct work in a controlled office environment, moving around the office as needed, sitting at a desk, using office equipment, including but not limited to a computer, copier and telephone, read, write, listen, speak, and understand English, have the ability to work independently, be dependable and maintain confidential information, integrity and composure at all times.

 

The employee is expected to be self-directed, take initiative and be persistent when appropriate to accomplish necessary duties and keep busy without prompting.  Additionally, the employee is expected to be adaptable/flexible to changing work assignments, analytical, organized and detail-oriented, perform multiple tasks at once, compose correspondence and other documentation in a professional manner, express ideas constructively, actively listen to others, manage time effectively and efficiently to meet deadlines, learn and memorize procedures, display a cooperative attitude, read, understand and follow all company, job specific and safety policies/procedures, and attend/use all required training.

 

Work Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, but must have ability to work the number of hours in which duties need to be accomplished, including overtime, holidays and weekends, as necessary.

 

 

Safety Training: A new employee hired to perform the duties of this position is required to be provided New Employee Training by a qualified individual or through the online training system.  Additionally, an employee must be provided further training if a job duty/task has changes that will affect the health and safety aspects of that employee’s position.

 

Additional refresher safety training will be required as management deems appropriate or as dictated by government regulations.
