Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this position is located in our Vancouver, BC office. This dynamic experienced and innovative professional will provide functional leadership in the promotion, development and delivery of civil, structural and architectural expertise.
Responsibilities

- →Provide functional oversight for all engineering activities, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to project standards.
- →Build an inclusive, collaborative team culture that values diverse perspectives and promotes innovation.
- →Manage direct reports through goal setting, performance reviews, compensation planning, and career development.
- →Mentor and coach team members, fostering continuous learning and professional growth.
- →Identify competency gaps and implement targeted training and development strategies, while championing progressive learning and embedding best practices within the team.
- →Forecast workload and plan engineering resources to meet project demands.
- →Drive team growth through proactive recruiting and hiring.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Architectural, or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university, with a Canadian Professional Engineering designation (P.Eng.) or eligibility for registration with EGBC.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive engineering design experience with a proven track record of managing and developing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Hands-on experience in Civil, Structural, Architectural, or Mechanical design for utility substations.
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian codes and standards, including Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and CSA standards; familiarity with North American transmission structure design standards.
- Exceptional leadership and relationship-building skills, with proven ability to mentor, coach, and inspire teams.
- Strong understanding of project management, quality management, human resources practices, and financial and administrative principles.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and deliver clear, compelling presentations.
