We are seeking a highly motivated Safety Coordinator/Supplies Coordinator to join our team at our warehouse in Salt Lake City, UT. In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our employees by proactively identifying and mitigating workplace hazards. You will develop and implement safety programs, conduct safety training, and enforce safety policies and procedures.  You will also support the business in ensuring proper support with internal supply stock and pallets is obtained. The Supplies Coordinator oversees the company’s internal inventory and storage control.

Responsibilities

  • Represent procurement/safety in morning startup meetings. Provide updates on projects, request assistance, and align priorities with SLC Ops leadership.
  • 5s internal supplies and supply areas for each department including use of the Kanban system
  • Oversee all supply inventory for all departments/warehouses at your location
  • Coordinate delivery and putaway for all internal supplies including asset tag tracking
  • Receive all inventoried items into Red Stag’s Warehouse Management System, and check deliveries to confirm accuracy.
  • Restock all supply areas daily including breakroom supplies.
  • Create a standard process for delivery and storage of departmental supplies including non-essential supply areas such as RSF Apparel and Hot swap shelves.
  • Coordinate with the Procurement team on any new supplies added to inventory.
  • Deliver all new equipment for any expansion projects within your designated warehouse.
  • Preform pallet counts twice weekly
  • Audit Red Tag Area- Weekly
  • Support all internal teams with equipment repairs and replacements
  • Provide backup for Procurement Specialist
  • Perform other duties as requested by the director of Procurement.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of the warehouse to identify potential hazards
  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety programs that address warehouse specific risks
  • Investigate safety incidents and near misses; develop corrective action plan to prevent recurrence
  • Maintain and update safety documents including safety data sheets (SDS) and accident reports
  • Maintain a positive safety culture by promoting safe work practices and encouraging employee participation in safety initiatives
  • Stay current of relevance safety regulations (OSHA, etc.) and ensure compliance within the warehouse
  • Work collaboratively with warehouse management and employees to address safety concerns.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Facilities, Safety and Security.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), Safety Management, or a related field OR six years of experience in a safety role, preferably within a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and best practices in warehouse safety.
  • Understanding of Procurement and Inventory Management
  • Experience in Materials Management preferred
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs.
  • Proactive and detail-oriented with a strong commitment to safety and process improvement
  • Experience with safety inspections and incident investigation.
  • Six Sigma/Lean experience preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to be on your feet and mobile throughout the warehouse.

 

FLSA: Exempt

 

Travel Requirements: Minimal travel may be required for training, as approved by the Director of Facilities and/or the Director of Procurement

 

Remote Work: Remote work may be possible on a limited basis with the approval of the Director of Safety and/or the Director of Procurement. This position primarily requires physical presence in the warehouse.
