Pre-Op/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse

Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia BLS certification Minimum of 1 year of experience in a critical care, emergency, pre-op, or PACU setting. Why Together Women’s Health (TWH)?
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments prior to surgery, including medical history review, vital signs, medication reconciliation, and patient education.
- →Ensure informed consent and pre-op checklists are completed.
- →Start IVs and administer pre-operative medications as ordered.
- →Communicate with surgical and anesthesia teams to coordinate patient care.
- →Provide emotional support to patients and families.
- Monitor and manage patients emerging from anesthesia in the PACU.
- Assess airway, breathing, circulation, level of consciousness, pain, and surgical site.
- Administer post-op medications, including pain management and antiemetics.
- Identify and respond to potential post-anesthesia complications promptly.
- Educate patients and families regarding discharge instructions or ongoing recovery.
Requirements
~1 min read- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Georgia
- BLS certification
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a critical care, emergency, pre-op, or PACU setting.
