The Load Planner is responsible for coordinating daily freight movements directly from our customers’ onsite location. This role serves as the primary liaison between the customer, carriers, yard jockeys, and internal operations teams to ensure efficient transportation. The ideal candidate excels in fast paced environments, maintains strong professional communication, and demonstrates exceptional problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Schedule loads based on customer requirements, equipment availability, and transportation constraints.
- Ensure all loads are properly sequenced, routed, and assigned to the carrier.
- Monitor real time load status, proactively resolving delays, service issues, and exceptions.
- Serve as the onsite operational point of contact for the customer’s logistics and warehouse teams.
- Communicate daily planning updates, service concerns, and any operational changes.
- Build strong working relationships through professionalism, responsiveness, and consistent execution.
- Collaborate with dispatch, and carrier partners to ensure loads are covered.
- Update internal systems with accurate load information, appointment times, and status changes.
- Escalate service risks and collaborate with internal teams to prevent or mitigate issues.
- Ensure accurate entry of load details, pickup/delivery appointments, and documentation.
- Support customer reporting requirements.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, customer SOPs.

Requirements
~1 min read- This role involves daily data entry tasks; therefore, accuracy and speed in data entry are essential.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to interact professionally onsite with customers and yard personnel.
- High attention to detail, strong problem solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in TMS platforms, Microsoft Excel, and SAP would be a plus.
- Experience working onsite within a customer facility preferred.
- Knowledge of yard management practices preferred.
