Employment Specialist

• 6 months to 2 years of job coaching or related experience
• Knowledge of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or autism
• Valid driver’s license with at least 6 months of driving experience
• Access to a vehicle with valid insurance, registration, and inspection
• 18 years of age
• Ability to communicate, read, write, and understand English
• Ability to work independently with strong time management skills
• Preferred: ACRE or CESP certification, or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire

• →Support individuals in finding and maintaining competitive, community-based employment
• →Assist with job applications, interview preparation, and job readiness skills
• →Provide on-site job coaching, training, and ongoing support at worksites
• →Build relationships with employers to support successful job placements
• →Communicate with individuals, families, and employers to help maintain stability and success on the job
• →Encourage independence, confidence, and strong decision-making skills
• →Develop and follow individualized employment plans based on each person’s strengths, goals, and interests
• →Observe progress and provide guidance, feedback, and support as needed
