The HRIS Analyst is an expert in the development, optimization, and maintenance of the People Strategies and Solutions (PSS) / Human Resources (HR) systems supported by the People Technology team at UW Credit Union (UWCU).

The analyst drives the use of people data to gain insights, make decisions and take actions that support the UWCU Employee Value Proposition, culture and mission/vision. They are responsible for understanding the processes that create data in our PSS/HR systems, identifying and implementing data flows and integrations, and leading the creation of data-based analytical and storytelling solutions in collaboration with subject matter experts within the PSS team, IT, and operational stakeholders to meet business needs.

The analyst also translates business objectives into technical system requirements to optimize processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the user experience with UWCU and PSS/HR systems. This role has an impact on improving the employee experience through technology and digital initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance employee-specific data analytics by leveraging skills and knowledge of advanced data analysis and visualization, data systems / warehousing, reporting tools, data sources, and dashboards to deliver actionable data reports to inform stakeholders making business decisions to support a culture of data driven solutions.
  • Gather requirements and recommend prioritization across stakeholders to enhance reporting and dashboards.
  • Coordinate reporting functions within the People Technology team through custom reports and other analytics tools.
  • Complete all documentation of data structures, measures, metadata, assumptions, models, reports and analyses and other documentation as required.
  • Catalogue all ongoing and scheduled reports in the employee data management catalogue.
  • Develop ETL processes to move data into and out of PSS/HR systems in compliance with governance standards.
  • Manage HR data quality through audits, discrepancy resolution, and root cause analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and security standards.
  • Implement and maintain access controls and data protection measures.
  • Build relationships with AIDA (AI + Data Analytics) team and serve as liaison to AIDA and work to incorporate UWCU data standards and procedures into PSS/HR processes.
  • Identify gaps in processes and workflows to enhance system performance, data integrity, and reduce manual effort.
  • In partnership with stakeholders, recommend process improvements and innovative solutions to optimize and automate People Technology services and systems.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with IT, accounting, and operational teams as well as external partners to support definition of problems and use cases, identify appropriate data sources, and design, develop, and deliver data-driven solutions that satisfy business requirements.
  • Recommend, design, and implement system optimizations to maximize system capabilities and control costs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for PSS/HR technical inquiries.
  • Provide troubleshooting, support, and training to HR users and stakeholders.
  • Oversee data integration methods including APIs, SFTP, and vendor data exchanges. Partner with IT to ensure PSS/HR system integration with other internal applications.
  • Follow approved processes for creating and maintaining data flows and integrations while ensuring data security.
  • Evaluate vendor system upgrades and new functionality to determine impact and priority.
  • Maintain documentation and diagrams of all PSS/HR systems, integrations, and workflows.
  • Establish peer networks within the industry and vendor communities to exchange best practices and trends.
  • Lead and contribute to business analysis and project planning and management to identify and execute improvements, initiatives, and projects on the PSS/HR technology roadmap.
  • Drive technical and user requirements gathering through collaboration with PSS cross-functional teams and partnership with People Technology team for PSS projects.
  • Support configuration, access, security, and technical requirements using established governance practices during project execution.
  • Compose clear and effective project communications.
  • Create user guides and training materials to support adoption.
 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Business, or a related field is required.
    • Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 6-7 years of Human Resources and/or Technology experience is required.
  • 4-5 years of experience working as an HRIS Analyst or in a similar technical role within HR operations is required.
    • Experience working with HR data is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of data analysis, modeling and visualizations.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, measures, governance, security and privacy, and documentation standards.
  • Strong relationship management and emotional intelligence.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and planning skills.
  • Strong project management and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to analyze complex system issues and recommend effective solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to write technical documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working in collaborative, matrix environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneNote, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
