Contact Lens Technician

• →Coordinate the ordering and maintaining of contact lenses.
• →Accurately gather, document, and handle patient contact lens orders and payments.
• →Teach patients how to care for and use contact lenses.
• →Verify insurance benefits per patient request, file contact lens claims for any patients wishing to use their insurance benefits. 
• →Cross-train to perform other tasks, including diagnostic testing and administrative front desk duties.

• →High school diploma or GED certificate
• →Completion of a contact lens, optician or ophthalmic assistant or technician program strongly preferred (COA or COT)
• →Experience working as a contact lens technician, optician, ophthalmic technician or scribe is preferred
• →Experience with EMR tools a plus
• →Proficient with MS Office tools (outlook, excel, word)
