Responsibilities

  • The compliance Supervisor, Leads / Oversees daily activities of the SFO Export organization to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness at an expert level.
  • Ensures the efficient flow of orders/requests through customer service, and compliance. 
  • Guides the team by providing operational export compliance management, collaborating with key business stakeholders, and Trade compliance Legal teams to make sure the team is meeting all corporate and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Reviews orders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Working with the IP Director of Trade Compliance - participates in planning, documenting, and implementing all ITT Industrial Process Division Trade Compliance Policies and Procedures, as necessary, to ensure compliance with U.S. export and import laws and regulations.
  • Responsible for Overseeing the management of all export compliance activities related to the operation of SFO Trade Compliance team.
  • Collaborate internally with ITT Trade Compliance Leadership responding to all governmental Requests for Information (RFI), Notices of Action or any other governmental request concerning export activities.
  • Developing and implementing any necessary internal process review mechanisms to assess Trade Compliance  including the assigning of any needed corrective actions and all needed follow-up to ensure completion of those corrective actions
  • Monitoring for and disseminating information relating to changes in export laws and regulations to Trade Compliance Counsel and Trade Compliance team.
  • Identifying cost saving opportunities for business units related to free trade agreement preferential duty treatment and other tariff programs.
  • Managing, reviewing, and approving Export Administrations Regulations (EAR), Foreign Trade Regulations (FTR), INCOTERMS, etc. for ITT personnel and providing guidance on export related shipments in order to provide reports and notifications to the U.S. government, as needed.
  • Support sales proposals for compliance with export laws and regulations as required.
  • Maintaining legal records to ensure proof of compliance.
  • Work with sales and global supply chain in reviewing the use of licenses, exemptions and exceptions for shipments and information exports, including deemed exports. Managing deemed export review for non-resident visa holders.
  • Assisting ITT Trade Leadership in conducting internal investigations, related to any alleged infractions or violations of applicable U.S. export or import regulations.
  • Identifying and reporting to ITT Trade Leadership any potential violations of trade compliance regulations and implementing process improvements to mitigate risk.
  • Identifying gaps in compliance and methods for process and procedure improvements.
  • Collaborating with ITT logistics department on issues which relate to both trade compliance and logistics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Global Supply Chain, Law or related field strongly preferred  
  • 3-5 years’ supporting trade compliance actions and activities
  • 2-4 years trade compliance leadership
  • Experience navigating Buy America/Buy American requirements.
  • Experience with U.S. government programs such as SNAP-R, ACE (AES),
  • Experience with denied party screening programs and export licensing databases, like OCR
  • Deep understanding of Department of Commerce and OFAC regulations.
  • Experience working with various ERP systems.
  • Experience drafting and submitting export licenses and agreements, interpreting and providing guidance on EAR regulations for the licensing of commodities, technologies and defense services
  • Experience in use of EAR exceptions for export transactions.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of individuals and work well as a team member. Must be open to challenges, new ideas, and change. Must be able to handle multiple priorities and work well under pressure.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must be US citizen or permanent resident.
