JOB DESCRIPTION:

A Bartender is responsible for taking food and beverage orders; entering orders quickly and in proper sequence; serving food and beverages for guests at the bar and tables in the restaurant, if required; coordinating with the kitchen to ensure timely service and quality of the food; and providing the highest quality of service to the customer at all times; performing all other responsibilities as directed by the business or as assigned by management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Takes food and beverage orders, places orders, delivers orders, checks back after delivery of food and beverage to ensure guest satisfaction, observes guests to respond to any additional needs
Maintains bar and table appearance by pre-bussing, checks drink levels, removes clutter and provides adequate napkins, etc.
Presents check for payment, processes payments, and provides change, as needed
Stocks and organizes bar, as required
Ensures friendly welcoming service at all times
Process payments via POS register system
Follows customer service, adult beverage, and cash handling policies and procedures
Keeps assigned station clean, sets up and takes down station tables appropriately
Any and all duties assigned by management

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must meet state minimum age for serving alcoholic beverages
Must have at least 6 months of closely related bartending/serving experience
Work experience in high volume or fast casual dining restaurant environment preferred
Must be able to pass required state food safety certification requirements
Must have reliable transportation
Must be able to pass pre-employment testing (i.e. drug test, background check, etc)
Must have full availability and be able to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:

Ability to read, write and speak English (multi-lingual a plus)
Ability to understand, follow and give written and oral instructions
Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with guests
Ability to interact with guests and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner
Ability to work harmoniously with fellow employees and guests
Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
Follow all company policies and procedures
Thank guests with genuine appreciation
Ability to speak with others using clear and professional language
Skills to develop and maintain positive working relationships with others
Ability to lift, push, pull, and/or carry up to 20 lbs
Ability to (<8 hours per day) walk, bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
Ability to frequently immerse hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions
Ability to work indoors and outdoors, including prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures
