An exciting opportunity exists for a Financial Services Clerk to join the Windhoek office - Namibia.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accounting and administrative support to the organisation, ensuring efficient and effective management of financial and administrative tasks, including accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance and general finance support.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a professional services environment
- Proficient in the use of MS Software particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
The responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
- Process supplier and service provider invoices in accordance with internal approval procedures
- Match purchase orders and delivery notes with supplier invoices
- Prepare creditor reconciliations and assist with monthly payment runs
- Respond to supplier and vendor queries promptly and professionally
- Ensure compliance with firm policies and relevant accounting rules
- Perform daily banking reconciliations for both business and trust accounts
- Monitor and allocate incoming and outgoing funds across trust and business accounts
- Ensure all trust transactions are accurately recorded and appropriately supported by documentation
- Liaise with fee earners and/or secretaries to ensure correct treatment of client funds
- Assist with receipting and allocation of client payments
- Monitor outstanding client accounts and assist in following up on overdue balances
- Generate and distribute client statements and reminders
- Liaise with fee-earners and /or secretaries to resolve billing or payment related queries
- Prepare EFT payment schedules
- Load payments into online banking systems accurately and on time
- Ensure all relevant supporting documents are received for payment packs
- Ensure appropriate authorisations are obtained before payment processing
- Maintain accurate and organised financial records
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Provide support during audit or compliance reviews
- Perform ad hoc duties as requested by the finance manager or reporting manager
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Good communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Time management skills
- Ability to meet deadlines in high pressured environment
- Strong numerical and problem-solving skills
