Medior Data Engineer

Who we are
Ceras-Analytics is part of the Cefetra Group, an established multinational. Ceras-Analytics was launched in late 2022 and can be considered a start-up. The Cefetra Group consists of various agricultural and food ingredients trading as well as supply chain management companies, with leading brands in the ingredients business. Collectively, we employ over 700 people across 35 offices in 20 countries around the world. We work closely together to guarantee the best possible service to our customers. Together with suppliers, we develop supply chains and create value by sourcing and supplying raw materials to the international food and feed industry.

The Job
As Medior Data Engineer, you will help develop, maintain and improve the data foundation behind Ceras-Analytics. Your work will support market analysts, traders and external users by making sure our data is reliable, scalable and easy to use.

You will work with large and diverse datasets, including exports, imports, prices, weather data and other market-related information. Our current datasets contain more than 30 billion records, and our platform continues to grow with new products, new clients and new data sources. In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Build, maintain and improve automated Python scripts for data collection and processing.

• Design and implement database structures in PostgreSQL.

• Develop and automate ETL pipelines for new and existing datasets.

• Combine and consolidate data from different sources into clear, usable data models.

• Create interactive dashboards and data products in Qlik Sense.

• Automate reports and platform updates using Mail & Deploy.

• Improve workflows through automation and scheduling software.

• Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into data solutions.

• Support the development of new data products from idea to delivery.

• Help ensure that our web and mobile apps run smoothly for hundreds of internal and external users.

• Support testing, bug fixing, new feature development and release management in Azure DevOps.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building reliable data solutions, improving processes and making impact to the business.

Who are you
To be successful within Cefetra, it is important to have a 'self-starter' mentality, to be open-minded, accurate and curious. You are an experienced Data Engineer who enjoys building reliable data solutions and improving existing Ceras platforms. You like working with Python, SQL, ETL and large datasets, but also understand the business impact behind the data. Ideally, you have:

• You bring solid experience as a Data Engineer and are ready to take ownership.

• Strong experience with Python and SQL.

• Experience with ETL, automation, database design and data modelling.

• Experience with BI tools, azure, devops, and web development is a plus.

• A pragmatic, hands-on mindset and strong sense of ownership.

• The ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Excellent English communication skills.

You understand that data is not only about 0s and 1s, but about creating value for people, planet and profit.
