We have an exciting opportunity to join our Simulations Department as we are actively recruiting for a Robot Simulation Technician responsible for developing robotic simulations of our automated systems utilizing DELMIA Robotics on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. This position reports to the Simulation Technician Supervisor.

What we’re looking for

  • Setup simulation work cell models from design and engineering data.
  • Analyze robot paths for reach parameters and layout to ensure optimal placement.
  • Evaluate robot and tooling interactions to identify potential interferences.
  • Review robot and system cycle times based on cycle time chart and estimating processes.
  • Assess robot and system safety concerns (ANSI/RIA, CSA, ISO).
  • Collaborate with colleagues to resolve design and process issues
  • Program collision free robot paths. (Offline Robotics Programming)
  • Create simulation deliverable documents (Robot Data Sheets, Videos, Cycle Time Analysis, etc.).
  • Generate off-line program downloads and debug using various robot specific software.
  • Assist Designers with engineering change requests involving robotic applications.
  • Aid Controls Technicians in resolving issues with offline programming and/or shop floor programming, if necessary.

What you need to succeed
  • Post-secondary education in engineering, mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience programming industrial robotics or robotic simulation/offline programming, an asset.
  • Experience in at least one robotic application: MIG welding, spot welding, sealing, or material handling.
  • Familiar with industry robot safety standards (ANSI/RIA, CSA, ISO).
  • Experience with at least one robot brand: FANUC, ABB, KUKA, NACHI, MOTOMAN.
  • Experience using various Robotic Simulation software, an asset (DELMIA D5/V5/V6, RobCad, Process Simulate, Roboguide, RoboStudio).
  • Ability to work afternoon shift, if required.

Wage Range: $25.00 -$43.00 / hour
