Summary
Champion Home Builders is seeking a highly analytical and business-oriented Manager / Senior Manager, Strategic Finance & M&A to join its Strategic Finance organization. This role will support financial planning, performance management, organic and inorganic strategic decision-making, mergers and acquisitions, and other finance initiatives across the company.
The successful candidate will combine strong FP&A capabilities, business partnership, technical finance expertise, and strategic analysis skills. This individual will work closely with leaders across Finance, Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, and other corporate functions to provide actionable insights, improve decision-making, and support Champion's growth objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Support company FP&A processes, including annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting and financial reporting, and long-range planning processes for management and executive leadership presentation and review.
- Develop and implement detailed variance analyses performed on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, versus budget, forecast, prior year, and strategic plan, identifying key business drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting, scenario analysis, capital allocation, and M&A decisions.
- Partner with business leaders to translate operational activities and business initiatives into KPI that drive performance.
Strategic Finance, M&A & Business Analysis
- Conduct strategic and financial analyses to support growth initiatives, capital investments, operational improvement projects, and other corporate priorities.
- Evaluate investment opportunities and business cases utilizing Net Present Value (NPV), Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), payback analysis, and other financial return methodologies.
- Perform scenario, sensitivity, and profitability analyses to support capital allocation and business decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of presentations, recommendations, and analyses for executive leadership and Board-level discussions.
- Support merger and acquisition activity, including financial diligence, valuation support, integration analysis, synergy tracking, and executive-ready recommendations.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Process Improvement
- Build structure and rigor around financial processes, reporting frameworks, and decision-support tools, including through collaboration with other key functions.
- Leverage ERP systems and financial reporting platforms to improve analysis, efficiency, and visibility into business performance.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and enhanced analytics and be a key builder of company-wide process and systems improvement initiatives.
- Support the adoption and practical use of AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies within finance and business processes.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant experience for Manager level or 8+ years for Senior Manager level in FP&A, corporate finance, strategic finance, consulting, investment banking, or other analytical finance roles.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex financial modeling, scenario analysis, data manipulation, and reporting, including VBA familiarity and advanced database integration processes.
- Strong experience utilizing ERP systems and financial reporting and analytical tools, including Power BI and Fabric.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, monthly and quarterly reporting, variance analysis, and performance management.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, key performance indicators, and business performance drivers.
- Experience evaluating investments and strategic opportunities utilizing NPV, DCF, IRR, and related valuation methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate financial information into actionable business insights.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect operational performance to financial outcomes.
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing, building products, consumer products, industrial, or related sectors.
- Experience working with operational finance and manufacturing performance metrics.
- Exposure to business intelligence, visualization, and analytics platforms.
- Familiarity with AI tools and their application within finance, reporting, planning, and decision support.
- MBA, CPA, CFA, or other relevant professional designation.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to travel as required to support business needs.
- Ability to work in a hybrid office environment based in Troy, MI.
