Privacy Manager
Responsibilities
~2 min readChargePoint is looking for a Senior Privacy & AI Analyst to drive and scale our Privacy & AI Operations capabilities. You will operationalize privacy and responsible AI requirements across products, services, and internal processes, ensuring compliance while enabling innovation.
You will partner closely with Legal, Security, Product, Engineering, and Data teams to embed privacy and AI governance into day-to-day operations. This role is highly execution-focused, emphasizing assessments, reviews, tooling, and process scale.
As a Senior Privacy & AI Analyst, you will:
- →Lead and execute Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), AI Impact Assessments, and Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs) across products and business initiatives
- →Own the creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Records of Processing Activities (RoPA)
- →Review and assess Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), vendor contracts, and data-sharing arrangements for privacy and AI risks
- →Operationalize privacy-by-design and responsible AI principles within product and engineering workflows
- →Partner with product and engineering teams to identify privacy and AI risks early and recommend pragmatic mitigation strategies
- →Build and maintain scalable processes, templates, and tooling to streamline privacy and AI compliance activities
- →Support third-party risk assessments and vendor onboarding from a privacy and AI governance perspective
- →Monitor regulatory developments (e.g., GDPR, AI Act) and translate them into operational controls and procedures
- →Track, report, and communicate privacy and AI risk metrics to stakeholders and leadership
- →Drive awareness and adoption of PrivacyOps and Responsible AI practices across the organization
This role will give you the opportunity to shape how privacy and AI governance is embedded into a rapidly evolving, data-driven and AI-enabled environment.
- →Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders (Legal, Product, Engineering, Security, Data Science) to operationalize privacy and AI requirements
- →Strong hands-on experience conducting privacy assessments (DPIA, LIA) and translating findings into actionable remediation plans
- →Experience managing and maintaining RoPA frameworks and data inventories
- →Demonstrated ability to review and negotiate data protection clauses in contracts and DPAs
- →Experience designing or improving PrivacyOps processes, workflows, and tooling
- →Ability to identify gaps in privacy and AI governance and recommend scalable operational solutions
- →Experience supporting vendor risk management and third-party assessments
- →Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- →Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assessments and operational workflows simultaneously

Requirements

- 5+ years of experience in privacy, data protection, or AI governance, with a strong operational focus
- CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT, or equivalent privacy certification.
- Deep understanding of GDPR, privacy frameworks, and emerging AI regulations (e.g., EU AI Act)
- Hands-on experience conducting:
- Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs)
- Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs)
- Vendor/privacy risk assessments
- Experience maintaining Records of Processing Activities (RoPA)
- Experience reviewing Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and data-sharing agreements
- Familiarity with PrivacyOps tools and workflow automation platforms (e.g., OneTrust, TrustArc, BigID, etc.)
- Understanding of data lifecycle, data flows, and system architecture concepts
- Experience working with AI/ML systems or AI governance frameworks (nice to have)
- Knowledge of privacy-by-design and responsible AI principles
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
