Position Summary:

The School Based Lead Clinician position is responsible for providing clinical care in the school setting. She/he/they will utilize assessment tools to identify areas for interventions and partner with district staff to support the student in a manner that is conducive to all aspects of wellness.  While working as a lead team member, this position requires a management, supervision, and coaching to a team of clinicians in a school setting, daily.  The ideal candidates will possess proven leadership skills with a history of providing clinical interventions within a school setting. Typical work hours are 7:30am-4pm, Monday through Friday.

Program Specific Responsibilities:

  • Serve in a lead role to a treatment team that is provides behavioral health support integrated within educational programming
  • Responsible for managing and overseeing students experiencing risk behaviors and/or behavior health crisis events
  • Designate and support with case coverage and support during times of staff transitions and/or PTO.
  • Train new team members upon hire and regularly thereafter to ensure collaboration, competency, and teamwork is present in each building.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques, in individual and group settings
  • Provide direct services to individuals, families, and groups through a wide variety of treatment modalities including but not limited to behavior modification, individual, group, and family therapies in multiple school settings.
  • Create, maintain, and update treatment plans accordingly to address client specific needs.
  • Coordinate total care given by collaborating with multidisciplinary professionals to provide and facilitate care in accordance with policies and procedures, philosophy and objectives of Child and Family Focus.
  • Responsible for completion of intake and clinical assessments for all students entering the program
  • Coordinate and triage all referrals while ensuring care is provided in a timely manner
  • Serve as a liaison between Child and Family Focus and school district staff focusing on customer services, community partnerships, and advocacy for students in need
  • Utilize multiple electronic health records, when needed
  • Demonstrate ongoing availability during the school year
  • Use and implement the 5 core values of Trauma-Informed Care in all work practices - Safety, Trustworthiness, Choice, Collaboration, & Empowerment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Human Services or related field including Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work
  • 1 or more years of clinical experience working in an educational setting
  • 2 or more years of experience providing therapy to children & adolescents
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, or Licensed Clinical Social Worker
  • Typical work hours are 7:30am-4pm, Monday through Friday
