About the Role

~1 min read

We are hiring a Senior Analyst for AML Governance & Advisory within Financial Crimes & Identity. This team owns the governance framework supporting Chime's BSA/AML and OFAC compliance programs, ensuring that policies, procedures, controls, and reporting structures align with regulatory expectations, partner bank contractual obligations, internal risk appetite, and evolving financial crime risks.

This position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and can balance regulatory rigor with operational agility. The ideal candidate is proactive, assertive, and solutions-oriented, capable of driving initiatives forward, challenging the status quo, and identifying opportunities to automate and streamline governance processes.

The analyst partners cross-functionally with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Financial Crimes’ Operations, Product, and Engineering to drive effective oversight, documentation, and continuous program maturity.

You will partner cross-functionally with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Financial Crimes Operations, Product, and Engineering to drive effective oversight, documentation, and continuous program maturity.

The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $112,000.00 and up to $155,000.00. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

  • Lead and enhance governance frameworks supporting the BSA/AML and OFAC programs, ensuring clear ownership, accountability, and effective oversight.
  • Drive governance routines, executive and committee reporting, and escalation processes in a fast-paced regulatory environment.
  • Track, analyze, and report on program risks, issues, remediation plans, and control effectiveness to promote transparency and informed decision-making.
  • Partner with Financial Crimes and Risk teams to support enterprise-wide AML and sanctions risk assessments, document controls and control owners, and strengthen the control framework.
  • Draft, update, and maintain BSA/AML and OFAC policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and bank partner obligations.
  • Monitor regulatory and guidance developments, assess applicability and impact to Chime, and drive the resulting policy and control updates to completion.
  • Prepare comprehensive materials for regulatory exams, bank partner reviews, and internal/external audits, maintaining audit-ready documentation repositories.
  • Coordinate audit and exam responses, and drive remediation efforts with clear milestones, measurable outcomes, and strong follow-through.
  • Support issues management end to end — from issue intake and root cause analysis through corrective action plan design, validation, and sustainability evidence.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to influence outcomes, support change initiatives, and implement scalable governance improvements.
  • 5+ years of experience in BSA/AML and OFAC compliance, with significant time spent in a governance, advisory, or second-line capacity at a fintech, bank, or other directly regulated financial institution.
  • Deep working knowledge of FinCEN, OCC, and FFIEC requirements and examination expectations, with applied experience in consumer banking, payments, or lending.
  • Exceptional written communication, with demonstrated ability to translate regulatory requirements into clear, defensible policies, procedures, and executive-level narratives.
  • Experience supporting regulatory examinations, internal or external audits, and bank partner reviews — including request-list management, evidence collection, and interview preparation.
  • Hands-on issues management experience: authoring corrective action plans, defining validation criteria, and tracking remediation to closure with evidence of sustainability.
  • Experience contributing to enterprise-wide BSA/AML and sanctions risk assessments, including inherent risk scoring, control effectiveness rating, and residual risk methodology.
  • Working knowledge of the three lines of defense model, and the judgment to provide credible independent challenge while maintaining strong first-line partnership.
  • Experience building executive- or Board-level reporting materials and running formal governance and committee routines.
  • A demonstrated record of driving automation or process improvement within a compliance or risk function.
  • Strong program management skills, with the ability to run multiple concurrent workstreams against firm regulatory deadlines.
  • Proven ability to influence across Compliance, Legal, Risk, Product, and Engineering.
  • Comfort operating with urgency amid ambiguity, shifting priorities, and incomplete information.

  • Experience in a sponsor-bank/BaaS operating model, including partner bank oversight expectations, contractual compliance obligations, and multi-party escalation dynamics.
  • Proficiency with data and workflow tooling — SQL or BI platforms (Looker, Tableau), GRC platforms (Archer, LogicGate, AuditBoard, Workiva), and comfort applying AI tooling to reduce manual governance work.
  • Familiarity with the financial crimes technology landscape — transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and case management systems — and the control considerations each carries.
  • Experience with regulatory change management programs and enterprise risk management frameworks.
  • CAMS, CFCS, or a comparable certification.
  • Experience in a high-growth fintech or startup environment.
