Position Overview:
The Veterinarian will work closely with the Production Operations team to develop and implement strategies that improve the health and performance of the swine herd. This role focuses on process-driven approaches to optimize productivity and herd management. The Veterinarian provides hands-on experience and the opportunity to build expertise across all phases of swine production.

What You Will Do:
- Implement treatment strategies to maintain and improve herd health.
- Provide timely diagnostic support, including coordinating field sample collection, analyzing results, and communicating findings.
- Prepare summaries and offer recommendations to the Production Operations Team based on diagnostic and field data.
- Respond promptly to emerging health challenges and troubleshoot on-farm production issues.
- Deliver technical training to service and farm staff to ensure proper herd management practices.
- Support and enforce all biosecurity measures and Standard Operating Procedures within the production system.
- Assist with the implementation of Christensen Farms' On-Farm Pork Quality Assurance program.
- Conduct necessary regulatory blood testing and animal health checks, ensuring compliance with all regulations regarding animal movements and product use.
What You Offer Us:
- Hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree and have 0-1 years of relevant veterinary or animal health experience.
- Possess a strong understanding of animal diseases and laboratory analyses.
- Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing time and priorities in a fast-paced, changing setting.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts through strong interpersonal skills and independent initiative.
- Show commitment to the swine industry and the well-being of livestock, with the ability and willingness to travel as needed.

- The targeted base pay range for this role is $95,000 to $157,000 with this range reflecting differences in candidate knowledge, skills, and experience.
