Reports To: Operations Director / School Administration
FTE: Part-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday (school days)

Summary

Colorado International Language Academy (CILA) is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Janitorial Staff member to support the cleanliness and daily upkeep of the school campus. This role focuses on afternoon and evening cleaning duties to ensure classrooms and shared spaces are clean, safe, and ready for the next school day.

Essential Job Functions

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas daily
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the building
• Empty trash and recycling and replace liners
• Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces (desks, door handles, light switches, etc.)
• Restock restroom supplies including soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
• Maintain cleanliness of cafeteria/multi-use spaces after school hours
• Ensure building is tidy, organized, and secure before leaving
• Report any maintenance or safety concerns to administration
• Follow proper procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and equipment

Other Duties

• Perform related duties as assigned to support school operations

• Basic knowledge of cleaning practices and custodial procedures
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Good time-management skills and reliability
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and instructions
• Positive attitude and willingness to support a school environment

Qualifications

• Must be 18+
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred but not required
• Ability to pass required background checks

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a school environment during after-school hours. This role follows the school calendar and typically does not include weekends or holidays.

Physical Demands

This position requires regular physical activity, including standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and repetitive cleaning motions. The ability to use cleaning equipment and handle supplies safely is required.
