A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PRESCHOOL TEACHING ASSISTANT

As a Preschool Teaching Assistant, you are responsible for the holistic development of all the children in your care, addressing their academic, social, and emotional needs. You provide a healthy, safe, clean, and age-appropriate classroom environment that reflects the children's learning and growth. With the lead teacher, you coordinate and implement the educational curriculum. Classroom activities are based on appropriate practices and early learning standards. You adapt all daily routines and activities to individual interests and needs.

Leveraging your cultural competency and respect for each child's background, you personalize childcare programs with cultural, linguistic, and familial values! You ensure that each family receives an opportunity to build strong relationships with staff by establishing clear communication. With attention to detail, you maintain accurate, complete, and timely records of clients, daily meals, and attendance. You also keep up-to-date emergency forms, curriculum plans, development profiles, and other records. Responsibly, you stay in compliance with all state requirements and quality controls. You feel good about helping kids to reach for their goals and fulfill their true potential!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PRESCHOOL TEACHING ASSISTANT

• At least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to complete training and maintain current status in first aid, common childhood illnesses, child abuse prevention, and CPR (we provide these trainings)
• Must complete a medical evaluation
• Ability to meet physical demands, such as interacting with children at floor level, running, jumping, lifting children, and lifting equipment as well as participating in outdoor activities, field trips, and swimming as needed
