The Commercial Banking Mid-corporate segment Manager is accountable for leading and directing a team of professionals. Strong commercial awareness is a necessity. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to companies with sales ranging between $100million to $3 billion in the Hungarian market as well as to our clients in the Baltics and Balkan region that are managed from the Budapest hub. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. External communication is quintessential to represent the bank at senior level during client meetings, corporate events. Accountable for the end results of the area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Primarily affects the performance of the Midcorp sub-segment within the commercial business. Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area. Full management responsibility of a team, including management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.
Responsibilities:
* Manage a team of professionals including senior relationship managers, associate bankers and relationship associates
* Responsible for appropriate staffing and delegation of tasks among his/her team
* Drives business objectives, strategy and owns p&l for the sub-segment
* Originates and executes complex corporate finance type and investment banking deals from structured financing to equity and debt capital markets issuances as well as M&A advisory
* Is the captain for new to bank and existing client base for lending products including end-to-end management of greenlight process, firm approval and loan disbursement
* Identifies cross-sell opportunities to deepen and increase share of wallet;
* Calls on clients to deepen relationships and proactively owns, responds to, uncovers and anticipates future needs, roadblocks or risks and expectations
* Introduces solutions to clients in building and strengthening an effective portfolio;
* Works with product specialists and subject matter experts to structure innovative and customized solutions that meet clients’ individual needs across flow and episodic product offering
* Operates closely with Case Manager on the on-boarding and retention of clients, ensuring the appropriate “Know Your Client” (KYC) and other compliance deliverables are met;
* Maximizes client experience by proactive sharing markets updates, trend and intelligence;
* Drives innovation in the solutions we provide clients and further developing our business where necessary and appropriate
* Execution of strategic initiatives launched centrally at all levels
* Networks with clients to identify avenues for new business opportunities;
* Administrate the credit relationship of the client, coordinating and supervising the entire process, ensuring the proper application of policies and institutional processes
* Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and Citi's policies / guidelines at all time
* Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
* Minimum 10+ years of experience in sales and relationship management with at least 5 years in senior/leadership roles
* Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding client revenue, cross-sell and client satisfaction targets
* Experience in managing and scaling teams including hiring, coaching, performance management and succession planning
* Strategic thinker with ability to translate strategy into executable sales plans and measurable KPIs.
* Excellent client relationship, networking, and stakeholder-management skills; trusted advisor presence with C-suite clients.
* Sound knowledge of corporate and investment banking products and process as well as a track record of providing sound banking and financial advice and solutions to clients
* Demonstrates advanced level of Early Warning Detection skills
* Shows advanced credit skills; able to structure all type of credit deals(acquisition finance, trade finance, LBO, syndicated facilities, term and revolving lines of credit etc.)
* Ability to coordinate multi-functional teams to provide an exceptional client experience.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills (e.g. negotiation, consultative skills, leadership)
* Ability to work under pressure while making sound decisions
* Highly focused, able to rapidly identify key priorities, clearly communicate the priorities
* A proactive approach in looking for ways in strengthening business relationship with clients, delivers a simple, secure and seamless client experience
* Passion for creating new business opportunities with existing clients and able to demonstrate innovative approaches to meeting clients’ needs.
* Ability to embrace new technology and understand the role digital plays in the experience we deliver for our clients
* Able to quickly adapt priorities based on the latest data insights
* Hungarian language knowledge and being fluent in English are a prerequisite
Education:
· Bachelor’s/University degree, Masters degree preferred
