Engineering Lead Analyst - Vice President

JOB DESCRIPTION Exciting senior role in Observability with growth and flexibility. Primary responsibilities will be to provide development and engineering services for Observability of Data Middleware products including: Kafka, Solace, MQ and EMS as well as web serving platforms and future support for ETL and BPM domains. The Candidate will provide senior development for metrics collection and engineering leadership for our operations team. Responsibilities: * Design and Implement Observability Solutions: Develop and maintain tools for monitoring, metrics collection, and distributed tracing. * Tool Management: Deploy, configure, and manage observability tools for Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK Stack. * Instrumentation: Work with operations and engineering teams to instrument middleware services to emit meaningful telemetry data (metrics, logs, and traces). * Automation: Automate the setup and scaling of observability infrastructure using the firm’s CICD and deployment tools like Ansible. * Dashboarding and Alerting: Work with operations teams to create and maintain dashboards to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and configure alerts to notify teams of potential issues. Qualifications: 10+ years experience with the following: * Programming and Scripting: Proficiency in Java and at least one other compiled language for writing custom metrics collectors as well as scripting languages for automation scripts and custom tooling. * Development and Deployment: Experience developing and deploying solutions with modern CICD tools like GitHub, Artifactory, Jenkins, Harness, etc. * Monitoring Tools: Hands-on experience with modern monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, AppDynamics, ELK, etc. Experience with MeshIQ products (Nastel Navigator, AutoPilot, X-Ray) if possible. * Cloud and Containerized Platforms: Experience deploying and managing processes in Openshift or other containerization platform. Experience with GCP or other major Cloud Platform and their native observability services (e.g., Google Cloud's operations suite, AWS CloudWatch, etc.). * Distributed Tracing: Knowledge and experience with OpenTelemetry standard distributed tracing.
