Marketing & Communications Coordinator
CityKidz | Hamilton, ON (Hybrid, 3 days in office / 2 days remote)
Full-Time, Permanent
This is not a typical marketing role.
At CityKidz, marketing and communications are not about promotion for promotion’s sake. They are about invitation, telling the story of hope, resilience, and generosity in ways that honour children, families, and the supporters who walk alongside them.
We are seeking a Marketing & Communications Coordinator to steward CityKidz’ storytelling and supporter-facing communications as part of our Resource Development team.
If you are a thoughtful communicator, a strong coordinator, and someone who cares deeply about meaning, clarity, and integrity in storytelling, this role may be for you.
About CityKidz
CityKidz is a faith-based, Christian organization that exists to build resilience and inspire big dreams in children and youth living in low-income communities. Our programs are grounded in love, hope, and a belief in the inherent value and potential of every child.
While our motivation is rooted in the Christian faith, our programs and partnerships are welcoming and inclusive, serving children, families, and communities of all backgrounds.
About the Role
The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is a key coordinator of CityKidz’ marketing and communications function, supporting the alignment and execution of supporter-facing campaigns and communications. You will support the clear, consistent, and thoughtful communication of our mission, impact, and opportunities for generosity.
You’ll collaborate with the Executive Director and work closely with the Resource Development Administrator on campaign direction and messaging.
This role is about coordination, stewardship, and alignment, not being a one-person creative studio. At the same time, you’re comfortable working directly in design and marketing platforms to make adjustments, refine content, and support execution when needed. You will work closely with internal teams and external creative partners, supporting storytelling, coordinating timelines, and helping ensure our communications reflect who we are and what we stand for.
This role is designed to grow in responsibility over time as the Marketing & Communications function continues to develop.
You will be part of a Resource Development team that views fundraising as a ministry of invitation, rooted in authentic relationships and faithful stewardship.
What You’ll Do:
- Coordinate supporter-facing communications for fundraising, stewardship, and engagement campaigns
- Develop draft campaign briefs and messaging direction in collaboration with fundraising and operations teams
- Coordinate work with freelance writers, designers, videographers, and creative partners
- Review and refine content for clarity and alignment with CityKidz’ values, escalating more complex or sensitive decisions as needed
- Support the consistent application of CityKidz’ brand voice and storytelling across print, digital, email, and social channels
- Coordinate digital advertising, website updates, and multi-channel communications
- Monitor engagement and response metrics to inform learning and improvement
You might be a great fit if you:
- Are a strong coordinator, comfortable working across teams and with external partners
- Care deeply about storytelling with integrity, especially in mission-driven or nonprofit work
- Have strong writing and editorial judgment, even if you are not the primary content creator
- Understand how marketing supports fundraising, stewardship, and relationships
- Are organized, thoughtful about priorities, and comfortable working with guidance when balancing competing demands
- Are comfortable working within a faith-based organization and respectful of its values
What You Bring:
- 2–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or fundraising
- Experience coordinating campaigns and managing external creative partners
- Comfort working across digital, print, email, and social channels
- Experience with email marketing tools, design software, websites, and digital platforms
- Experience in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment is an asset
Compensation & Benefits:
- The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $58,000 commensurate with experience.
- This role is positioned as an early-career to mid-level opportunity with room for growth over time.
- CityKidz offers a comprehensive benefits package, paid time off, and a supportive, mission-driven work environment.
- We are committed to fair, transparent, and equitable compensation practices.
