JOB SUMMARY
The Project Technician supports the successful delivery of Capital Infrastructure projects by coordinating administrative and technical processes throughout the project lifecycle. This role is responsible for managing tap applications, assisting with the preparation and tracking of project submittals, and ensuring compliance with contract requirements and regulatory standards. The Project Technician monitors project timelines, facilitates communication between internal departments, contractors, and utility companies, and helps track project progress to keep work on schedule. Additionally, the position supports payment processing by supporting project managers and inspectors with reviewing invoices, verifying quantities, and maintaining accurate project documentation. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential to ensure efficient coordination and execution of infrastructure projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent, along with two (2) years of experience in construction, public works, or permits setting.
Special Requirements:
Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of permitting software such as OpenGov preferable.
- Knowledge of Capital Infrastructure project processes, including planning, design, and construction phases.
- Familiarity with tap application procedures and permitting processes.
- Understanding of contract documents, specifications, and compliance requirements.
- Skill in both written and oral communication.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to complete tasks with multiple distractions.
- Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing project demands.
- Familiarity with project tracking systems, document management systems, and standard office software.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is primarily sedentary, with occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force and/or frequent or constant negligible force to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects, including the human body. Additionally, the following physical abilities are necessary: fingering, lifting, and speaking.

Must pass background check and pre-employment substance abuse screening as a condition of employment. A motor vehicle record check and job-related doctor's physical exam may also be required. Safety-sensitive positions remain subject to random drug and alcohol testing after hire.
