CityVet is looking for Veterinary Technicians (VT) to join our Urgent Care team! At CityVet, we know our team of happy people is as unique and diverse as the pets we care for. The Veterinary Technician (VT) is responsible for maintaining excellent patient care and operational productivity by helping the Veterinarian leverage their time and efforts to meet the needs of their clients and patients. The Veterinary Technician works to relieve the Veterinarian from technical work and administrative detail to achieve greater levels of efficiency in daily practice. Veterinary Technicians help facilitate and streamline communication from the operating room to the front office staff and most importantly, the client.
Requirements

- At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience
- This is a part time weekend position Saturday and Sunday, possibility of a 3rd day if desired.
- Understanding of and ability to properly, and safely, restrain animals
- Knowledgeable on veterinary medical terminology and medication
- Veterinary Technicians may be licensed or unlicensed; both are welcome to apply.
- This role includes rotating weekends and will involve working General Practice and Urgent Care within the same shift.
- Weekend differential pay is offered for Saturday and Sunday shifts.
- Must be surgery trained, including experience with anesthesia monitoring, surgical prep, and maintaining sterile technique.
- Must be CPR-trained and able to respond confidently to in-clinic emergencies.
- We treat cats, dogs, and small mammals.
Assists the Veterinarian in urgent medical and surgical cases. This includes:
- Preparing lab samples
- Interpreting cytology samples
- Interpreting urinalysis
- Running in-house lab work
- Preparing samples for send out analysis to Antech
- Inducing, monitoring, and recover anesthetic patients
- Preparing cost estimates
- Filling Prescriptions
- Client education
