Job Title: CNC Machinist 1

Exempt Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Cheshire, CT

This role will support our first shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm.

Summary: 

Plan and perform various CNC turning operations to machine a variety of metal parts. 

Essential Functions:

• Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes.
• Work from blueprints, engineering instructions, and specifications.
• Setup, adjust and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
• Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
• Check parts to ensure that they are properly lubricated and cooled.
• Measure, examine, and test completed units to defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
• Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter.
• Maintain records and document in-process inspection data.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related data
• High School Degree or G.E.D
• 1+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist, aerospace preferred. 

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Precision Manufacturing Certificate preferred
• Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization
• Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering work instructions
• Ability to setup and operate CNC turning and milling machines
• Ability to measure using standard shop tools, machine tools, and engineered gaging to close established tolerances
• Knowledge of G & M codes
• Ability to travel domestically – 10% max
