The Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey is seeking a compassionate and collaborative Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who works proactively to support students, faculty, and families at Kellman Brown Academy (a private Jewish day school) serving children from infant through 8th grade.
This role is designed to facilitate an inclusive and supportive school culture where all students can thrive socially, emotionally, behaviorally, and academically. The BCBA will serve as an active building-wide support, providing professional development opportunities, individual and group social skills, and individualized planning for students and classrooms who benefit from additional behavioral, social-emotional, executive functioning, and organizational support.
The ideal candidate establishes rapport with students through regular contact and works closely with teachers, administrators, and families to develop practical supports that promote independence, self-regulation and social success across school settings.
This role emphasizes proactive and collaborative teacher consultation and coaching, individual and small-group social skills instruction, and executive functioning support for students with neurodivergence and related challenges while fostering a positive, inclusive school culture grounded in belonging and student success.
Responsibilities
~2 min read· Provide proactive behavioral, social-emotional, and executive functioning support for students in Pre-K through 8th grade.
· Build positive relationships with students, teachers, administrators and families to support student success and foster an inclusive school culture.
· Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) when needed.
· Design and implement individualized and classroom-based strategies to support self-regulation, coping skills, organization, independence and positive peer interactions.
· Facilitate individual and small-group social skills instruction focused on communication, conflict resolution, emotional regulation and problem-solving skills.
· Support students with neurodivergence, executive functioning challenges, anxiety and related behavioral or learning needs through individualized planning and skill-building interventions.
· Collaborate with teachers and support staff to develop practical classroom strategies, accommodations, routines and behavior supports that promote student engagement and success.
· Provide consultation, coaching and support to faculty regarding behavior management, classroom climate and inclusive practices.
· Assist students with executive functioning skills including organization, task initiation, time management, transitions and self-monitoring.
· Participate in student support meetings and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective intervention planning and continuity of care.
· Monitor student progress through data collection, observation and collaboration, adjusting supports as needed.
· Provide support during challenging situations using calm, respectful and trauma-informed approaches.
· Develop and facilitate staff trainings and parent workshops related to behavior support, executive functioning and social-emotional development.
· Maintain ethical and professional standards in accordance with BACB guidelines and applicable state and school regulations.
