BAMSI has been “bringing people and services together” since 1975. Through the Parent Information Network (PIN), we provide family‑driven, peer‑based support to parents and caregivers raising children with mental health needs. Our work centers lived experience, empowerment, and connection—helping families navigate complex systems while building community and resilience.

Responsibilities

The Parent Coordinator provides family‑driven, non‑clinical support grounded in lived experience. This role focuses on empowering parents and caregivers of youth with mental health needs through peer support, education, and connection to resources.

• Provide peer‑to‑peer support and guidance to parents/caregivers based on shared lived experience
• Help families navigate systems such as schools, mental health services, and community resources
• Facilitate parent and caregiver support groups
• Participate in outreach, trainings, and community collaborations
• Support families in building confidence, advocacy skills, and self‑determination
• Maintain professional documentation and reporting as required by program standards
• Collaborate with PIN staff and community partners to ensure coordinated, family‑centered support


• Flexible, community‑based schedule
• Hours may vary week to week based on family and program needs
• Includes a mix of daytime, evening, and occasional weekend hours
• Designed to meet families where they are—not limited to a traditional 9–5 schedule


• Required: Lived experience as a parent or caregiver of a youth with mental health needs
• Required: Residency in Southeast Massachusetts
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Passion for supporting families and strengthening communities
• Comfort engaging with diverse families and systems


As a Parent Coordinator, you will help families feel supported, understood, and empowered while navigating complex systems. Your lived experience will directly impact how families access care, advocate for their children, and build stronger support networks.
