Senior Technical Accountant
Quick Summary
The Senior Technical Accountant is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate posting of company finances in real time and according to GAAP regulations including maintaining and creating prepaid entries, banking, tax, payroll accounting, accounts payable, accruals and fixed assets. In addition, this role will work with other departments including engineering and operations to prepare and support ad hoc analyses. This position will report directly to the VP of Finance and serves as a key member of the finance department to ensure accurate and timely financial records for the organization.

- Must be able to use typical office equipment including, but not limited to, telephone, fax machine, copier, and computer and paper filing systems.
- May be required to lift items up to 15 pounds in weight
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time at a desk
- Complete month end processes to include standard journal entries, and analyses
- Ensure compliance with SOX control requirements, corporate accounting policies and procedures
- Assist in preparation of financial statements
- Prepare Wire Transfers and ACH payments
- Reconcile banking activity daily
- Review GL coding and approve all AP invoices for processing
- Reconcile general ledger activity for balance sheet accounts
- Responsible for supporting all internal and external audits as directed by management
- Prepare audit work papers and assist with annual financial audit requests
- Maintain Fixed Asset listing
- Maintain sales tax database and support sales tax preparation
- Perform ad hoc reporting, assist with special project and general tasks as needed
- Assist in developing company policies and procedures
- Proven ability to work with professional discretion with confidential information
- Self-motivated and own job responsibilities
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Provide backup to the AP and AR positions as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related area of study from accredited college or university
- 2 – 5 years general ledger accounting experience
- Familiarity with Sarbanes Oxley procedures, testing, and generally accepted accounting practices
- Experience with Syspro preferred
- Experience in manufacturing environments is preferred
- Advance knowledge of Excel
